White Pine County Parks throughout the area received a major face-lift due to the proceeds from BLM Land Sales. There are plenty of options to choose from, and you should find just what you are looking for at one of these great places.
Ruth Park has a large grassy area and a variety of playground equipment. You will find a mix of older and newer things to play on. There is a great area for picnics, and the park has a restroom facility located across the street.
Broadbent Park is located off of the North end of Mill Street. This park has an enormous grassy area for playing football, baseball, and many other activities. This park has hosted the UNLV Football Camp in the past, and it is also home to the annual Relay for Life Event. You will find plenty of room to play and picnic here.
Steptoe Park is located on 13th Street near William Bee Ririe Hospital. This huge park facility has a soccer field, half-court basketball court, baseball diamonds, and BBQ facilities. You will also find a very nice sidewalk that goes around the entire park for walking and/or jogging. The park has bathroom facilities, and a water fountain. Kids of all ages will find playground equipment to suit their needs. The rock climbing wall is always a hit, and the mountain views from this park are beautiful.
The County Park is home to two new large pavilions, a restroom facility, and the historical county duck pond. This location hosts events like Arts in the Park and car shows. The facility is located next to the library and courthouse. This facility is used by the middle school for recess and outdoor activities during the school year, so you should keep this in mind if you are planning to visit on a school day.
This park has some great new equipment and a grass area. Across the street, you will find a large grass area that is great for picnics or playing catch. Keep in mind this facility does not have a restroom or water fountain available.
This park is located next to the Northern Nevada Railroad Complex. This is a great place to let the kids play while you wait to board the train or explore the museum. The kids love the horse swings at this facility. A nice picnic pavilion provides shade on warm days.
This small park is located on Mill Street. There are a great grass area and basketball equipment. Please note this park does not have a restroom facility. This park is a great choice if you are looking for small crowds. You will often find yourself with the entire facility to yourself.
