The White Pine County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that we have received grant funding to participate in the Joining Forces Program. The Department of Public Safety-Office of Traffic Safety awarded $23,000. to the Sheriff’s Office for the grant period of October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. The grant is to support law enforcement’s participation in the Joining Forces traffic safety campaigns during the coming year. Joining Forces is a high visibility, multi-jurisdiction statewide effort to increase safety on Nevada’s roads by increasing enforcement and awareness of traffic laws. The goal is to reduce crashes and save lives by focusing on impaired driving, distracted driving, seat belt use, and pedestrian safety. Thanks to this award the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office will be able to team up with other law enforcement agencies to achieve this goal. Law enforcement personnel will continue to enforce traffic safety laws year round as part of their commitment to reduce crashes and save lives. Whether you are a driver, a passenger, or pedestrian, the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to make safety on our roadways a top priority.
