Obituary: Barbara Johannah Groben

Barbara Johannah Groben Of Ely, Nevada. Born February 20, 1957.

Barbara was a remarkable woman. She was quick-witted, fiercely loyal, tenderhearted, and unapologetically original. she was raised in Indiana. In her adult life she traveled all over the globe. She was always willing to try new things and she loved to seek out adventure. She leaves a quiet space in our world that was once filled with the joy of her and music.

She is survived and mourned by countless family and friends, none more than her partner in adventure and life, her husband, of 43 years, Steve Groben, her grateful sons, Steven, Keith, and Joshua Groben, her “Daughter-in-Love” Stacie Groben, and her beautiful grandchildren.

If Barbara has touched your life, please join us to celebrate her. Services will be held at Calvary Church, 701 Ave M in Ely, Nevada. The service will be held on Wednesday, July 19th at 6pm.

Barbara will be greatly missed. Her impact in the many lives that knew and loved her will be felt for years and decades to come. I will be eternally grateful for her heart towards my daughter and how she embraced her as her own, “the daughter that she always wanted” and Stacie reciprocated that love with her whole heart, a true Mother daughter relationship. We love her son Keith the same way and consider him one of our own.
Her close friends will concur that her loyalty was unwavering and sure.
I miss you already Barb. It is painful to walk through for us your friends and Especially for your family. Your exuberant expression of life leaves a Gap amongst us.
We celebrate your home going tonight during the memorial but we celebrate your life in our lives each and everyday. We will each have to step up our game as we follow your example to live in the moment with all that is within us. Thank you God, that we got to share life with this precious lady.
