The Nevada Northern Railway train depot and museum aren’t just trains and a gift shop. There are many fascinating rooms, with huge dials, and mechanical parts, along with pleasant surprises like the still usable Morse Code machine. The entire experience takes you back to a world before smart phones, but all the while, communication was only a button away. Walk by the mechanic room, and you’ll see the steam engines which are still maintained by volunteer staff. The smell of engine oil and smoke fill the air and distant, unrecognizable shapes of these huge machines looming in the dark distance. The whole room is something out of a sci-fi movie, like a robotic elephant burial ground.
Be sure not to miss a one of a kind experience and the Nevada Northern Railway train depot and museum.
